Pinehurst Day 2 - Course #7

Our shuttle ride to Course #7 took about 10 minutes. Some of the guys wore their knickers and gaudy golf attire (see below). Most of us were playing from the Blue Tees again, which was playing about 7100 yards. The weather was perfect and the rain held off!

Dinner at Holly Inn
We had an 8:30 PM reservation for dinner at our hotel but it turned out to be "too long" of a dinner. The meals were served very slowly and everyone started dropping like flies, even some skipping dessert. We were going to play cards but most were too tired to continue their night. The dinner experience at The Carolina was much better!!

Pinehurst Day 2 - Morning

Some of the guys played an extra round of golf Saturday morning. We also enjoyed a very nice breakfast buffet at the Carolina where they pretty much had anything you could want for breakfast. Wade and myself walked around the village for a little to get some pictures.

Pinehurst Day 1 - Dinner and Dugans

Friday night we all had dinner at The Carolina. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was top-notch! We also received 4 free bottles of wine for our dinner reservation mixup! The dinner was awesome as our Acura Golf Package included free breakfast and dinner each day. The dinner alone would have cost around $70 as it included an appetizer or salad, entree and dessert!

After the dinner some of us headed to Dugan's Pub for a few drinks where they had a live band playing.

Pinehurst Day 1 - Course #4

The first day of golf started on Pinehurst Course #4. Many of us played from the Blue tees while a few played from the White. The weather turned out much better than anticipated! We did get a few rain showers on the last 3 holes but nothing too bad!

Pinehurst Day 1 - Holly Inn

We arrived at Pinehurst about one hour before our 10:24 AM tee time, we were a little rushed checking in and getting to the course but we made it in time. We stayed at the Holly Inn (see below), which was originally built in 1895, and renovated in 1997. The lobby and rooms were very quaint.

Day 1 - Travel Day

Wade and myself headed for Charlotte (from Northern Kentucky) around 7AM. As we got into TN we were detoured from I-40 to I-81 due. We decided to stop at a random golf course and take advantage of the somewhat clear weather before it started raining harder, as the forecast called for a lot of rain. We found a place called Elizabeton, no not Elizabethtown, we are not missing the "w", near Johnson City, TN. We were able to get in nine holes and Wade recorded a birdie on the first hole, subsequently he shot a 9 on the 4th hole!

The other guys we're supposed to meet in Charlotte played at another course and rumor has it one of them shot a 68!! We'll all meet around 7:30 for dinner. We'll find out more about their day of golf during dinner. Here's a pic of our room where we only had to pay $20 a piece for at Embassy Suites in Charlotte!
